Su bar commision for back wall work experience.

The post on Facebook about the SU bar wall design

This work experience opportunity was offered on facebook. The post was posted by Esther Stephenson. We were told that the theme had to relate to student life. With the design at the SU Bar they said that they would provided the materials.
So with this idea I decide to just design roughs until I find something that I like. (See picture below) with the design process I basically designed stuff from the top of my head. At first I want to go for a random design because I just wanted practice before hand and to clear my mind.

After clearing my mind I decide to go for design which would mostly focusing on pattern, I was going to design this by making a human  figure that had no detail on the person body but focus more on the cloths. I decide on this design so that the people at the bar could project themselves onto the design. But after looking at the design I decided that this was a way too complex design with the pattern and colour. With the materials cost overall I thought if I used too much then it would have not been chosen by them because of the overall cost.

So my next design I was going for something more simple and black and white colour scheme instantly came to mind. I also wanted to included something that would look modern and related to drinking. I decide to go for a portrait of a girl drink because it relates to the chosen theme and I also wanted to practice more with my brush pen.

I have received my response from the competition through the student university email system (below for evidence). I have not won the competition but this has taught me that you might as well try than not and you might just be luck. But I also wish that I could of improved my design by maybe doing a colour range or trying different angles. But I was pleased with the design that I made and I have learned something new.
