Work experience School poem cover designs

With this work experience I basically had a whole week to produce a cover idea to present to three school. I was given I list on what the themes were but not what the book contained itself poem wise. So basically I had very little information to go on but overall this was good exercise because it showed me what might happen with a client in the future.

The themes that I was given were Identity, Childhood memories and through the mind. We with these I designed some thumbnails so that I had an idea of what I could.

When redesigning these drawings I decide to go for something that was quick to sketch and colour in at the same it. So I decide with fine liner and water because that works the best for quick sketches.

The first design that I did was a giant robot being punched by a giant doll. This was for Childhood memories, it meant to represent children imagination. But as I was design this, I had a new Idea for Identity, I decide to go for a paper doll idea but to change a little aspect of it, like instead of changing the clothes you can change the face instead. With my last design , through the mind in which I decide to go for an idea in which you are catching the idea with a net. Overall with these design it was fun to create but I wish I had more knowledge of what they wanted. I am saying this because on the day I was told by the clients that they were great but did not relate to what they want from the poems they design. But overall it was nice to hear that they liked my design and this was a learning experience which I would do again.
